Access to Jobs

GO Transit offers a program for qualifying low-income workers called Access to Jobs.

WHAT IS THE ACCESS TO JOBS (ATJ) TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM?

ATJ is a demand response cab ride for the purpose of going to and from work only.* It is intended to assist low-income individuals with transportation needs related to employment. Income is a qualifying factor. The program is designed to allow low-income individuals to access their employment site, when the bus is not in service or does not provide reasonable access (walking distance from bus stop is not reasonable).

HOW DO I QUALIFY FOR ATJ?

You must live and work within the city limits of Oshkosh. You must be working full-time (30 hours or greater per week). If you are able to get to and from work via GO Transit buses, you must travel by bus. If you need transportation outside bus operational hours your card will reflect the hours it is valid for use.

WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS?

The application must be filled out completely and truthfully. You can pick up an application at the GO Transit office (926 Dempsey Trail) or download it here. After the application is completed, it should be mailed, faxed, or hand-delivered to the GO Transit office for review.

There is a waiting period while your application is processed. Employment hours and wages will be verified. If approved, GO Transit will issue a card that entitles you to use cab service for employment trips* at a reduced fare. There is an administrative fee every time a card is issued or changed. The fee must be paid when the card is picked up at the GO Transit office.

*If ATJ is also needed for child-care transportation related to employment, you must have your caseworker send documentation of this need to the GO Transit.
